=The Chancel Choir My name is Rebecca Morris and I encourage and welcome all who would like to glorify God in song to join us on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm. My desire is to continue to fill the choir loft (there are close to 40 of us now).
The Chancel Choir sings in worship through the school year. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings - 7:00-8:30 pm in the music room. Youth and adults are welcome to join our Sanctuary Choir.
=The Children's Choirs THE REHEARSALS for the Children's Music with Becky and Friends (5 years-6th grade with 7th and 8th grade assistants) will take place on Sunday mornings from 9:30-9:50 am in the annex. We will be singing. We will be playing new bells bought just for you. We will be playing handchimes. We have brand new rhythm instruments. We have kazoos and much more.
BELLS and CHIMES =Beginning Bells This is a new group. This is for anyone wanting to learn to play handbells. We meet every other Thursday evening from 6:00-6:45 pm. =CUMC Orchestra/Ensemble This is a new group here at CUMC. This is for anyone who can play an instrument. We so far have 3 flutes, 2 clarinets, 1 trumpet, 1 trombone, 2 violins, 1 cello, 1 bass, 1 guitar, piano. This is a great start. Dust off your instrument and come join us. We meet every other Thursday evening from 6:00-6:45 pm. =Ritardando Bells
This group is for any adults who can rehearse on Wednesday mornings from 11:00 am to noon. We try to ring once a month in service. (We also enjoy eating lunch together after rehearsal when we can.
MOVING MOUNTAINS BAND This band plays each Sunday in Fellowship Hall at the 11:00 am THIRST Praise and Worship. Rehearsals are led by Stephen Hargis. The band currently rehearses on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 3:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.
Special Ensembles Occasionally we put together a brass ensemble, or have need of an instrument incorporated into a choral anthem. If you would be willing to participate in an endeavor such as this, please let us know what instrument you play! Email me at music@cumc-indy.net
Other Needs Within any music organization there are many needs that do not necessarily involve musical talent. If you have special talents such as sewing (costumes), carpentry (sets or making cross necklaces for our children's choirs), organizational and computer skills (inputting anthem data into the computer), putting together power point programs, helping with sound booth and lighting needs...just to name a few...let us know and we will put your skills to good use in God's service.
