WEDDINGS

 

All persons scheduling weddings at Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church (members or non-members,) after the worship requirements have been met, will have their wedding and rehearsal dates guaranteed upon payment of the security deposit.

  1. Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church requires you worship with us for six weeks before we schedule your wedding. Please sign in during worship.

  2. Dates for your wedding, rehearsal and church facility use must be cleared through a Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church Pastor and the church office. We encourage scheduling weddings six months prior to the wedding date. If any change is necessary, the pastor and the office must be notified immediately. It is the policy of Christ United Methodist Church to have all wedding events completed by 8:00 pm on Saturday evenings to allow for clean-up for Sunday morning worship. Weddings with a church reception must begin by 4:30 pm.

  3. A $200.00 deposit is required at the time the rehearsal/wedding dates are put on the church calendar. The amount will be refunded to you the week following your wedding assuming all church rules are followed and the church facility is left in the condition it was found.

  4. If a Pastor other than a Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church Pastor is desired to assist with your wedding, written consent must be given and the invitation extended from one of our Pastors.

  5. The marriage license must be turned in to the church office by the Monday before the wedding date.

  6. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the church or on the grounds. No red punch, rice, birdseed or helium balloons are allowed. If you believe your wedding party will be smoking, please provide appropriate sand containers for areas outside the building. The family is responsible for seeing that these rules are respected. Violation of this paragraph will result in forfeiture of deposit.

  7. Music is a very important part of the wedding ceremony. Since you have asked for a Christian wedding in God's house, we request that you select music in harmony with the setting. (Photocopies of music are not acceptable.) If you have questions, discuss the matter with the Pastor or organist. We expect you to use our approved Church Organists. They are familiar with the organ and the procedures of our Pastors.

  8. Terri Haehnle or Carol Lee are our Church Wedding Coordinators. Please contact them to assist you with questions about the wedding and rehearsal.

  9. Counseling is required. Specific requirements will be explained by the Pastor. Charges may be involved.

  10. Floral decorations should be in keeping with the spirit of the sanctuary. Simplicity is always the standard. Furniture may not be moved. Tape, tacks, or nails are not allowed. Please use ribbon or pipe cleaners. Plastic protectors are to be put under the candelabra. The aisle runner needs to be 75 feet long.

  11. You may select any photographer that you desire. Your photographer should consult with the officiating clergy prior to the wedding about pictures during the ceremony. Stationary videos are fine.

  12. Remember that you are expected to take care of all the details of your wedding. Dressing rooms are available for the wedding party. We ask that you pick up all your belongings after the wedding. The church is not responsible for lost articles. Do not leave money or other valuables in the dressing rooms at any time.

  13. The Pastor will be in charge of the rehearsal.

  14. You will have access to the church building for dressing and decorating 4 hours prior to the wedding service.

FEES FOR WEDDINGS AT CHRIST INDIANAPOLIS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

  • $200.00 Deposit which will be refunded the week following your wedding assuming all church rules are followed and the church facility is left in the condition it was found.

Support Staff

  • $150.00 - Wedding Coordinator
  • $100.00 - Custodial Fee
  • $100.00 - Sound Tech (more if sound tech is acting as musician for the entire service)
  • $150.00 - Organist
  • Our Clergy do not have a set fee for services.
